If you are interested in working with Local 828, follow the four steps below to become a permit holder. Nobody is refused. Once you begin working, there is a permit system in place to help you gain experience and to help us appraise your abilities.
FOUR EASY STEPS TO BECOMING A PERMIT HOLDER WITH LOCAL 828:
1. PAY YOUR APPLICATION FEE
E-transfer the $20 application fee to our bookkeeper at etransfer.iatse828@gmail.com. Be sure to include the purpose of the e-transfer in the message section of the transfer.
2. SUBMIT YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT(S)
Submit an online self-assessment form. You may fill out the Scenic Art Self-Assessment form, the Props Self-Assessment form, or both.
3. SUBMIT THE NEW PERMIT REQUEST
Submit the New Permit Request form.
4. READ THE HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL PERMIT PAGE & TAKE THE QUIZ
Review the How to be a Successful Permit page and take the quiz. You must pass with 100% in order to be added to the list.
Please note that submitting a self-assessment form or a permit request form does not constitute an application for membership in the Union. Being on the Permit List is the first step to becoming a member of the Union.
